Mr. Dean Gwyn Shew, age 71 of North Wilkesboro passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday June 16, 2024, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Allen Bouchelle officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.        

Dean was born October 10, 1952, in Wilkes County to Harvey and Kathleen Shew.    

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Denise Dula Shew, son; Jerry Dula, sister; Kathy Anderson, and five brothers; Thurm Shew, Duke Shew, Jim Shew, Jerry Wayne “Gob” Shew, and Rocky Shew.

He is survived by his daughter; Julie (Steven) Call of Wilkesboro, two sons; Jimmy (Joyce) Shew of Wilkesboro, John Paul Riddle of Roaring River, six grandchildren; Duncan Dula, Amber Dula, Elizabeth (Jacob) Long, Victoria Carter, Tiffany Call, Tyler Call, two great-grandchildren; Penelope Elledge, Colt Eller, two sisters; Pauline Souther of North Wilkesboro, and Virginia Rider of Greenville, SC.
