Louise Joines Bumgarner

Mrs.  Louise Joines Bumgarner, age 92 of Millers Creek, passed away peacefully Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Caudill, Jessica Outterson, and Will Bumgarner officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. Bumgarner was born June 24, 1931, in Wilkes County to James Monroe and Vetra Owings Joines.  Burl and Louise were married on December 11, 1948.  She was a lifetime member of Union Baptist Church, and a member of Wilkes County Quilters and Eastern Star.  She loved baking, basket weaving, and making Chrismons, but her favorite time was spent loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bumgarner was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Bumgarner and her husband, Zollie; and one brother, David Joines.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Burl Bumgarner; one son, Steve Bumgarner (Susan) of Cornelius; three grandchildren, Jessica Outterson (Tiger), Will Bumgarner (Samantha), Daniel Bumgarner (Bonnie); and six great-grandchildren, Cruise Outterson, Ashton Outterson, Riley Bumgarner, Chloe Bumgarner, Harper Louise Bumgarner, Lillian Bumgarner; one sister, Marjorie Lankford (Bill) of Lincolnton; two brothers, Robert Joines (Lorene) of Wilkesboro and James Joines (Drucilla) of North Wilkesboro; and one sister-in-law, Linda Joines of Wilkesboro.
